I have finished up all the pieces of my raglan baby sweater. They've been pressed and are just waiting to be sewn up.
As for reading. We have been enjoying "The Barefoot Book of Classic Poems" so much recently. It is a treasure chest full of little gems.
The illustrations are by the wonderful artist Jackie Morris. We have a few of her books already and each one is completely magical.
This book enchants my girls from the nearly 4 year old all the way up to the nearly 13 year old. It is a great way to introduce a magic mix of both traditional and contemporary poetry to young and old alike.
The sweater will be just gorgeous when finished. Love the yarn color.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous knitting - you are the only other person I have so far found who also does not like doing the sewing up!
ReplyDeleteYour knitting is beautiful, what a lucky baby! I love oatmeal yarn, and never seem to buy enough of it!
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a cute little sweater!!
ReplyDeleteThat's such an adorable sweater! Great color too. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible sweater!! The sewing up always slows me down, too (or stops me in my tracks)...
ReplyDeleteSweet sweater!
ReplyDeleteI'm nervous about the sewing up of my first baby sweater and I'm nowhere near the time for the sewing yet!
ReplyDeleteHaven't tackled the sewing up part yet. I have only knit sweaters in the round. The sewing part scares me. We love poetry here. The book looks lovely. Good luck finishing up the sweater.
ReplyDeleteSewing up is my least favorite job too, when it comes to knitting, but not to fabric! I suppose that's why I love patterns that are knit all in one piece! The sweater looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI find myself checking out more and more poetry books at the library to share with my girls. The sweater is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat yarn looks so lovely! And your cables are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am going to truly look for that book. I adore a beautifully illustrated children's book. Illustrations that are a poem in and of themselves.
