{Yarn Along}

Joining Ginny today for Yarn Along today.

"Solitude, says the moon shell. Every person, especially every woman, should be alone sometime during the year, some part of each week, and each day."

"I am shedding pride. As little furniture as possible; I shall not need much. I shall ask into my shell only those friends with whom I can be completely honest. I find I am shedding hypocrisy in human relationships." What a rest that will be!
The most exhausting thing in life, I have discovered, is being insincere. That is why so much of social life is exhausting; one is wearing a mask.
I have shed my mask."

 "Gift From the Sea"

As far as knitting goes, I have been working on another doll dress, using my own pattern. I've got to the point now where the skirt is filling out and it is a bit of a juggling act to keep all those slippery stitches behaving properly on their own needles!
I have found the best way is to lay the work as flat as I can, kind of in the position photographed and work

  1. Your etsy shop looks fantastic, I have been considering doing the same but it still feels too scary at the moment - well done!

  2. Congratulations on the shop! :) The book sounds wonderful, and the doll dress is lovely. :)

  3. The first quote is so very good for me. Thank you for sharing them. I also really like the second. Your doll dress is coming along so beautifully.

  4. I hope you enjoy the book Suzy as much as I do every year.
Congratulations on opening your own store, that is super news!

  5. I have heard about the book, I will have to look for it. And I love the etsy shop! Awesome!

  6. The doll dress is looking gorgeous. Good luck wrangling those slippery needles. I have been known to use elastic bands on double pointed needles as I am knitting to prevent stitches being lost. I recently learned the magic loop method so I can hopefully avoid double pointed needles where ever possible. Congratulations on your Etsy shop. Jacinta

  7. oh i just finished reading that suzy! beautiful book. so happy for your store, yay! i will have to head over and check it out :)

  8. Oh, such a lovely book! I'd almost forgotten about it, but I think I'll have to re-read it soon...

I love your etsy shop - if you sold your patterns there I would absolutely buy them... ;) xo

  9. Your knitted dolls clothes are beautiful! Congratulations on the opening of your etsy shop :o)

  10. I read that book last year and was amazed at how undated it seems. It was a real favourite of my Granny. I'll definitely re-read it sometime!

  11. You are amazing! Your work is so beautiful, Suzy. Congratulations! (love that book, too...such riches there!)

I treasure each and every one of your comments.
Your kind words never fail to bring a smile to my face:)
At the moment I am going through a busy season of life with 5 girls under my wing! I may not always be able to respond immediately but please know that every word left here is read and appreciated deeply.
