{Soulfood Friday}
Slow, meditative work...
The other morning I saw someone scrubbing all the moss off their garden wall. I suppose some prefer a tidy look. I like to see the way nature creeps and seeps through all our well manicured, neat, clean surfaces. It comforts me. I've often thought it would be great to have a meadow, turf roof. For now I'll do with a moss covered one.
Emmy bought me this beautiful print from The Hermitage for Christmas. The amazing story behind the print can be found here. This week I found the perfect frame for it.
I've been practicing Satin stitch with Matilda. She has embroidered before but now we are starting to learn and perfect the stitches.
Florence and her zen make me want to be a cat. She has this whole living art installation thing going on. She helps me remember that doing nothing in particular can be the best thing to do.
Every Friday I'll be pausing to notice something from the week that has nourished my soul.
*
A special, sacred-everyday moment captured on camera, or perhaps a snippet from a book, a recipe still warm from the kitchen or something whimsical that simply made me smile.
*
Here are a few simple things that have fed my soul this week.
What has inspired/fed/nourished your soul this week friends?

I treasure each and every one of your comments.
Your kind words never fail to bring a smile to my face:)
At the moment I am going through a busy season of life with 5 girls under my wing! I may not always be able to respond immediately but please know that every word left here is read and appreciated deeply.
xx
Love all your beautiful photos and your wonderful cat! You ask me what has fed my soul this week, well my answer is this: kind patrons that have come into the library and made my day with smiles and encouragement. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe piece of art in the top photo is gorgeous. As is the cat!

ReplyDeleteI understand about letting the moss grow. I always have thought it would be lovely to have a house with a thatched roof...but I have always lived in sturdy red brick houses. Someday perhaps! Love your world.
ReplyDeleteHaha so beautiful. :) I have also always been one to stand back and watch nature work, pondering her unending strength and perseverance, though my neighbors don't like it much. Somehow it brings me back to remembering my place in this world and reminds me that all is well. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the look of moss over buildings, especially older ones. I think it adds to the charm and character. Love your photos. The one with the knitting has beautiful light coming through.
ReplyDeleteI love fabric, especially from other countries and cultures. You are going to do well at that embroidery. Hove that photo at the top. Have a great week-end.
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful print!
ReplyDeleteLovely print, a real treasure on many levels!!! I, too, like the moss on the wall. Nature at its best! Wishing you well! Cathy

ReplyDeleteLovely print, lovely cat. like you I prefer things to be just a little more the way nature intended. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful aquarelle in the first. I like the moss too and all the little plants/flowers were grow out of the cracks between stones, I always leave as much as possible to grow, it is my own kind of city greening. But of course, many citizens do not like that and sometimes I receive an admonition by the Office, it must make clear then. The Germans are so neat, sigh!
ReplyDeleteI always have dreaming to be a cat...
Have a blessed weekend
Moss is exquisite when you really examine it, a miniature world. We have a green roof on our garage it is a mix of sedums, grasses and mosses.
