Fina's Farmyard Birthday
Seraphina came bounding into our room, eyes wide and sparkling at 6 am.
She was so exited that it was her birthday, and she was finally 5!
Then we made our way to a local farm.
The birthday boy or girl always gets to choose a special breakfast and a birthday trip.
Fina wanted butterfly cookies and fruit kebabs for breakfast.
Matilda and Boo helped me make the kebabs the evening before.
We used her favourite fruit Strawberries, pineapple and blueberries.
We all wanted to take the goats home.
Goats have such personality. Even though they try to eat your sleeves too, along with the handfuls of cereal.
All my girls have a deep affinity with animals.
I love how they talk to the animals like friends and say "goodbye friend! See you later"
Bujana has become quite obsessed with finding nests and eggs.
Nola was fascinated with the chickens, offering them her whole cheese sandwich. One particularly confident bird run off with it in her beck, and soon a whole tribe of chickens were flapping and clucking behind her.
Thank you Tani dear for the photographic evidence that I am, in fact, still a kid.

Your kind words never fail to bring a smile to my face:)
At the moment I am going through a busy season of life with 5 girls under my wing! I may not always be able to respond immediately but please know that every word left here is read and appreciated deeply.

What a wonderful way to spend the day. Happy Birthday to your sweet five year old. I hope she gets her chickens! :)
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to Serafina! Five is a lovely age, and your family birthday traditions sound just great. The photo of your husband reading is lovely - I can see the resemblance between him and the girls, especially Nola.
ReplyDeleteDo our girls really have the same birthday? How lovely that the both of us were spending the day pampering and blessing our daughters. Makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to that lovely bundle of good the Father has given you.
(((you)))
beautiful day suzy! we do birthdays exactly the same... breakfast, trip and dinner. we just got chickens a couple of months ago. they are so easy and so amazing. happy birthday to your beauty :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I have missed reading your blog. I'm glad to be back on track and catching up some. I know that feeling, that overwhelming sensation of deep, pervasive gratitude that has you catching your breath and wondering at the marvel of it all. It looks like a most magical birthday. I definitely root for the chickens. I told my husband the other day that I hope to still have chickens when I'm 90! There is nothing more peaceful than watching chickens wander the yard, pecking, scratching and doing their thing. :)
