I've just started reading "The Faithful Gardener"
{A tale about that which never dies}

So far it is proving to be a little gem and a good evening companion.
Last weekend we raided the house for long lost library books to return, only to end up arms laden with twice as many again!
One book in particular has made the rounds more than maybe any of the others....
The Internet linked "Usbourne Children's Book of Art" is a wonderfully concise overview of some of the major artists and art movements. All the way from the masters of medieval Europe to modern conceptual art, the book offers the young reader a chance to explore their favourite pieces further through Internet links provided on each page.
Bujana and Matilda copied Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus"
They then read a little about the ancient myth and learned how tempera used to be made. Boo now wants to crush her own pigments and mix them with egg yolk.
It is so hard to find the time to knit sometimes isn't it? Thanks for the link to the Usborne Art book. I love Usborne and don't know why I didn't think of them when I was looking for art books for the wee one here. Have a wonderful day.xx
