{Soulfood Friday}

And every day the world will drag you by the hand yelling, “This is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day it’s up to you to yank your hand back and say, “No. This is what's important.

 Every Friday I'll be pausing to notice something from the week that has nourished my soul.

A special, sacred-everyday moment captured on camera, or perhaps a snippet from a book, a recipe still warm from the kitchen or something whimsical that simply made me smile.

Here are a few simple things that have fed my soul this week.

What has inspired/fed/nourished your soul this week friends?

{Yarn Along}

Joining one of my favourite blogs, "Small Things" today for Yarn Along.
Here are some pictures of my weeks works in progress. A custom Earth Mama doll and  I'm still working on Emmy's baby's longies. They are to for 6-12 months so I have some time left to finish them :)

I haven't been reading too much of late as, thanks to my Vitamin D deficiency, my eyes tire easily at the moment. However, I have, thanks to my resident teens just discovered to joys of the You-tube playlist I know I'm a little behind on all this folks. Thank heaven's for the resident teens, right.
I love doing my work with music playing in the background.
I don't follow the charts (do charts still exist?) and haven't a clue what is popular or not right now but again, thanks to my household teenagers I've been introduced to a lot of new artists. My tastes are really eclectic. I love anything,  as long as it either makes me want to cry, have an adventure or sing (badly but enthusiastically) along. :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

I just noticed Sylvie in the background. Look how this dog sleeps. This dog has a pretty good life.

{Soulfood Friday}

Apologies for my lateness again with this weeks Soulfood Friday. It seems that life just gets the better of me at the moment.

We usually go to a local National Park/Woods for a home-school meet up on Fridays and by the time we get home and warmed up it's time to pick the school girls up. Then of course it's Friday laundry, which is a little more epic than usual if that is even possible followed by dinner, bath and bed time which means preparing posts should really be done a day before scheduled. One day I'll remember this I'm sure.

But I'm going to cut myself some slack because Friday is my favourite day and this is "Soulfood Friday" which is all about honouring souls before  deadlines. It is also about trusting deeply that there is a time for everything and sometimes our soul's timing is better than our pocket-watch's.

Emmy comes home on Fridays which is another reason to be happy while the routines of the week can be left with the pile of coats in the utility room and the noise of girls' chatter in the kitchen makes me feel the best kind of warm.

My Thyroid has been playing tricks on me again and my Vit D levels are properly low so I'm on a seven week course of industrial strength supplements and blood tests to level things out again. I'm drinking all my good green juices and smoothies and getting as much sunlight as my little corner of England will offer.

On a happier note our littlest love is growing big and strong in his Mama's tummy and it shouldn't be long before we actually get to meet him (she will be 37 weeks on Sunday)

Many apologies if I've not replied to notes, messages and e-mails at the moment, I appreciate each and every kind and encouraging word and hope to be able to devote more time to responding in the coming weeks.

Wishing you all a happy and peaceful weekend xx

{Soulfood Friday}

This really was the sky at sunrise on Wednesday morning. I think I just stared out of the window for about half an hour watching the various hues ebb and flow like a gilt tide across the sky.

I bought some sunrise colours for my garden beds from our local nursery. This one is called Erysimum and is commonly known as  "Spring Magic."

Nola's tree top home taken today while playing at her favourite park. I love the way she chatters while in her own imaginative world. She made quite a home out of this small wooded area. There were tunnels, a wardrobe, a book shelf and a kitchen full of mulchy leaf stews.

First planting of the year.

This afternoon, Matilda and Nola helped plant some Primulas in the pot by the front door.

Sadly, one little flower stem broke. Nola came to the rescue with the idea of pressing it!

Have you watched this  beautiful movie? Some people just teach through their beingness. What an incredible life.
