Outside my window... I'll choose my most picturesque window, not the actual one I'm closest to inwhich all I can see is a big white council van and a wall :)
Outside my girls' bedroom window I can see that the little yellow stars of next doors winter jasmine have now faded to white. Everything is snow covered, which makes the garden look deceptivly tidy! Like mismatched bedding covered with a good bed spread :) I see hopeful rows of snow covered pots and one small, sqiudgy looking Fina made snowman with a drooping carrot nose!
Around the house... After a mad 30 minutes or so of frantic squealing and wrestling of dishevelled locks into tidy buns and searching for the one ballet shoe that always goes missing half an hour before class. There begins my quietest 3 hours of the week. Right now, only Emmy and Nola are at home with me as Daddy takes the girls to ballet on Saturday mornings. I can hear them pottering around downstairs. As I savour a tea all on my own and get to write a blog post in one sitting!
I am thinking... Whether, I should use this time to deep clean my post christmas, post new year, post birthday house, or sit here doing this.
I am thankful... The latter thought won :)
In the kitchen... We had a lovely roast dinner last night so quite a bit of washing up lol! Saturday is simple food day. Which usually means left overs... or cereals for lunch :)
I am wearing... Some brown cotton trousers. and a sequined vest under a slouchy knit jumper.
I am creating... A new custom Waldorf Doll for a friends little girl and some knitted leg warmers for Nola.
I am going... To finish this daybook, drink another cup of tea, call a friend, and then wonder for a moment about all the washing up in the sink before resigning myself to my knitting and the next chapter of Mill on the Floss:)
I am wondering... How I can better follow Jesus in my life. The Sermon on the Mount is some hard teaching. But I find know other way for my soul. Although I fall short of it and struggle, I know I am loved beyond understanding. I guess I'm with the psalmist when he says, simply knowing that is better than life.
I am reading... The Mill on the Floss - George Elliot
I am hoping... For many, many things and yet I am grateful for being exactly where I am right now.
I am looking forward to... Our holiday?!?! Fingers crossed &
I am learning... "Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife." Proverbs 17:1 Truth.
I am pondering... Either about the meaning of life, or in what parallel universe do all the missing socks end up ?.....as per usual :)
A favorite quote for today...
One of my favorite things... Nola's little red, round apple cheeks. I have to strictly watch I don't take a bite out of them :)
A few plans for the rest of the week: Mmmmm, not sure. I think we'll probably stick with our simple daily rythum and we'll see what else springs from it as usual.
A peek into my week...
Linking up with "The Simple Woman's Daybook"...
