{Yarn Along}
I'm joining Ginny for Yarn Along this week!
Sadly, I had to rip out most of the front of Fina's sweater and I couldn't bring myself to take any pictures of it this week so Emmy is standing in for me!
For some reason (probably sleep deprivation and general mushy headedness) I counted my stitches wrong when it came to divide the neckline, thus, one shoulder ended up far bigger than the other and no amount of pushing, nudging, pulling, tweaking, denial or wishful thinking could make the situation any better:(
A big wiggly pile of wool now sits in wait for me to re-motivate myself into action before December 25th...
So this week, I'm sharing some of Emmy's recent work! I just asked her what book she is reading mostly at the moment (she usually has a big stack piled up on her bedside desk so it's hard to tell)...she's a bookworm like her Mama ;) ... she says she really enjoyed Far from the Madding Crowd which she finished last night (Mmm so that's why the bedside light was still on at 11 pm then:).
Emmy says of the book, that she loved the surprise happy ending and the poetic style of prose throughout... so there you go :).
I remember that rainy day a couple of months ago actually, when she decided to pick up her crochet hook and a ball of wool from the bottom of my wool basket and just start working rounds to see where they would take her.
Well it took her down a rabbit hole it seems!!!
Because look who appeared only a few weeks later!
This little rabbit will soon belong to another little rabbit we know ... Nola, who was born in the year of the rabbit. A perfect present :)
Emmy has also made some really wonderful knitted bean bag juggling balls. They are perfect for learning to throw and catch with... Boo has spent quite some time researching on youtube in an attempt to learn how to juggle with them too!!! It may be sometime before we make a video of that :)

:) - you and those girls are just so crafty, even if you do make mushy headed mistakes once in a while...
ReplyDeleteso frustrating! i'm sorry. i feel your pain :)
ReplyDeletethe bunny though is adorable!!!! and my son just finished far from the madding crowd about a week ago. he loved it too!
Cheeky math! I'm so sorry about the sweater. I really didn't know there was so much math to knitting [of which I am not a fan] until I learned how to knit. If I had known I might not have started !:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your girls take after their mom in more ways than one. The rabblit and the juggle balls are great.And thanks for the book recommendation, we need all the help we can get here. My youngest keeps blowing through all my lists!
