Fairy Housekeeping

I'm also Guest posting over at beautiful Emily's "Imperfect Prose" if you want to hop on over and take a look :)

Emmy and Bujana made this little fairy house last week.
The basic structure is made out of thin pieces of wood board which Emmy hack sawed into shape.

The girls decorated the structure with an assortment of leaves, logs, loose moss, pine cones, shells, stones and bark collected from local parks and woods.
The decorations were stuck on using wood glue.

Then each girl chose her own special Spring plant to plant in the garden.
After planting the Spring plants we scattered seeds that should bloom in the Summer.
Can't wait to see how this little fairy garden evolves over the coming months!

Here is a link to last Years Fairy Garden Post!

The girls already make up many stories about the fairies that live at the bottom of the garden. They also have a specail treasure box of letters and little trinkets which the fairies sometimes leave for them there. Bujana's fairy is called "Nim", Tilly's "Lily" and Fina's "Mish".DSC01307
Nim left a beautiful jay feather for Bujana to collect the other day, now Bujana has been learning everything she can about jay birds.DSC01309DSC01308
Yesterday Boo told me that a rainbow dragon, from far away and over the hills, had captured her fairies and asked for a ransom of jewels from her to release them. She said that she had to write a story about how she rescuses the fairies from the dragon and then the story would come true and the fairies would be free. So that is what she did!DSC01310
Fairies are quite the theme for many imaginative play storylines, paintings, makings and stories these days it seems :)DSC01311

I love that there is a box for the fairies to leave gifts for the girls!
And I love Boo's story she told you, too. How wonderful.
I'll look forward to hearing more tales like these over the coming months. :)
