These simple shakers have been amoung my girls favourite toys for years now. I made them originally for Bujana. They are so simple yet fun for little ones to manipulate.
As they are transparent little ones can identify how different objects create different sounds!
I interchanged the lids of the coloured food tubs to create different colour effects, then filled them with an array of different things.....
rice, pasta, an avocado stone, some beads, beans, sand, marbles, coins etc....
And here they are in action during music time this afternoon!!!

Seraphina's one man band!

Flower pots made with lots of busy and messy little hands this morning! While Daddy built a new composter in the back garden. I tried to get a picture of him too but he declined lol (camera shy...bless ;)

Sword fighting!!! Today is the first time the kids have been out in the garden since late November. So they made the most of it before clouds once again loomed low in anticipation of more rain.
I love the pots, Suzy! Did you use a spray adhesive and then sprinkle with glitter? This goes right along with our wishful push toward spring here!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Thank you!!! They're very spring-like aren't they :0)
ReplyDeleteWe actually used a clear pva glue. Just brushed it on then sprinkled the little beads over shaking off any excess into a tray.
I made some shakers once for Max using red hots, and he was always trying to get it open and eat the candy. :P
ReplyDeletePretty Pots!!! The girls sword fighting reminds me of our grandsons and their Pirate games...Good day to you! Cathy
